The Clay County Board of Education will receive bids at 128 Richmond Road, Manchester, KY 40962 for Employee Voluntary Insurance Benefit Package including but not limited to Accident, Cancer, Critical Illness, Dental, Disability, Life and Vision Insurance until 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 3, 2018. Specifications and bid forms may be obtained at the Clay County Board of Education office in Manchester, Kentucky. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

Payroll Checks

Payroll checks will be available to be picked up on Friday, June 30th between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Any checks not picked up by close of business will be mailed.

Kindergarten Enrollment

There are new guidelines for Kindergarten Entrance for school year 2017-2018. Your child must be 5 years old by AUGUST 1, 2017 to be eligible for kindergarten entrance. If your child’s birthday is between August 1st and October 1st 2017, the Board of Education has developed an early entrance policy allowing your child to enter school earlier than permitted under statuary age requirements. The policy states that the child must be 5 by October 1, 2017 and demonstrate academic achievement, social, emotional, and physical maturity appropriate for kindergarten placement. You must apply for your child to be considered for early placement in kindergarten, before June 1, 2017. The application can be obtained at the Board of Education office.   

You must complete the following procedures for your child to be considered for early entrance.

  • Application for Early Entrance for Kindergarten.
  • Application must be submitted to the central office no later than June 1st. Assessment will take place within 45 days of receiving application at the central office.
  • Proof of age – must be turning 5 between August 1 and October 1.
  • Proof of Residency – student must reside in the Clay County School District.
  • Scores at or above the 80 percentile in all domains of the Brigance II Screener.

Camp Adventure: Summer School Program

Camp Adventur is a free "Summer Boost Camp" for th elementary students of Clay COunty who have completed grades K-5 during the 2016-2017 school year.

Clay County High School Class of 2017 Graduation Ceremony will be held  at 8:30 pm Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Tiger Stadium.  Congratulations to all graduates and their families. 

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration will be the week of Monday, May 15, 2017 through Thursday May 18, 2017 at each elementary school.  Register your child at the elementary school they will attend between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm on the dates listed above.  For more information contact your elementary school.

2017 - 2018 KCEOC Head Start & Clay County Preschool Screenings

2017/2018 School Year for 3 and 4 Year Olds for For All Head Start and Clay Preschool Locations

Children who are 3 or 4 including children with special needs by August 1, 2017 are eligible for Head Start

Children who are 4 by August 1, 2017 or are 3 with a disability are eligible for Preschool

Screenings will take place from 9:30-2:00 at the following locations:

We encourage all children to apply for KCEOC Head Start/Clay County Preschool, including children that are homeless and children with disabilities

Program determination is based on income eligibility. Homeless Children are given priority. Transportation services will be provided when possible
